Ballet Kelowna鈥檚 annual Relev茅: Help Us Rise spring giving campaign has received a significant boost thanks to a $10,000 matching pledge from the Thomas Alan Budd Foundation.听
With ticket sales and government grants covering only a portion of the company鈥檚 operating costs, private-sector support鈥攊ncluding donations from individuals鈥攁ccounts for approximately 30% of its annual revenue.
Contributions to Ballet Kelowna help fund the commissioning of new works, bringing original dance creations from the studio to the stage. Over its 22-year history, the company has commissioned more than 70 original dance works, solidifying its role as a leader in the development of Canadian contemporary ballet.

This past season, Ballet Kelowna captivated local audiences with three world premieres: pay蓻膷ot y蓻蠂蓹t by Cameron sink史蓹 Fraser-Monroe, Vestiges by Alysa Pires, and Le Carnaval des Animaux by Guillaume C么t茅. The 2024/25 season also introduced two company premieres: The Reassuring Effects (of Form and Poetry) by Trey McIntyre and An Instant by Lesley Telford.
Beyond the mainstage and touring performances, Ballet Kelowna continues to expand its community engagement through initiatives such as the POP-UP SERIES and the ever-popular IN MOTION Adult Dance program.
