The Kelowna Chiefs Junior A Hockey Club announced Rylan Ferster as the team鈥檚 new Head Coach and General Manager.聽

Over his 25-year coaching career Ferster has amassed an impressive list of team achievements, culminating in 2015-2016 where he led the West Kelowna Warriors to a Fred Page Cup as BCHL Champions and an RBC Cup as National Champions. Ferster鈥檚 playing career was also marked by a national championship win as a member of the 1990 Centennial Cup-winning Vernon Lakers.

A proud native of Prince Albert, Sask., Ferster has represented Canada several times at the World Junior A Championships as a General Manager, Head Coach, and Assistant Coach.聽

鈥淚鈥檓 thrilled to be joining the Kelowna Chiefs. I would like to thank Mr. (Darren) Tymchyshyn for the opportunity,鈥 said Ferster.聽 鈥淲hen I had the chance to move back to Kelowna and be close to my twin daughters, it really left very little in the way of decisions. I can鈥檛 wait to get started!鈥

The Chiefs鈥 2025-26 season will begin with their main training camp, taking place from Aug. 29-31.
