skiKrumb, a leading provider of radio GPS trackers for ski resorts, has been named a finalist in the 鈥淐ompany of the Year 鈥 Startup鈥 category for the 2025 Technology Impact Awards (TIAs), presented by BC Tech.
The Kelowna-based startup is one of 10 companies shortlisted in the category and will compete for a spot at BC Tech鈥檚 Dragon鈥檚 Den pitch night, presented by Electronic Arts.
鈥淐elebrating bold, creative thinking is at the heart of what we do at EA,鈥 said Dan Box, Vice president and general manager at EA Ventures.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we鈥檙e excited to support these awards and the incredible B.C. startups bringing fresh ideas and fearless ambition to the table. It鈥檚 a powerful reflection of the entrepreneurial spirit driving innovation across the province.鈥
鈥淭o see skiKrumb named a finalist for Company of the Year 鈥 Startup is truly an honour,鈥 said Keith MacIntyre, CEO of skiKrumb and a long-time Penticton resident.
鈥淢y mission to connect skiers and snowboarders without relying on cell service stems from a frightening moment when I was separated from my son. This recognition from BC Tech validates that personal mission and the importance of our work.鈥
MacIntyre explains that skiKrumb鈥檚 devices are small, rechargeable, and capable of transmitting over long distances. 鈥淭hey don鈥檛 freeze in cold temperatures and are the most reliable technology available for challenging resort environments,鈥 he said. 鈥淭he skiKrumb network was active at seven resorts across Canada last season, and we鈥檙e actively signing new partners for the upcoming season. Our customers tell us they鈥檒l never ski without it again.鈥
Winners of the 2025 Technology Impact Awards will be announced at the gala event on Oct. 23.
