A rezoning application that would have allowed up to eight housing units to be built on a subdivided cul-de-sac lot was defeated on Monday.
John Golubic wanted to rezone a lot on Torrs Court in the Mission to create two medium-size housing lots.Ìý
An existing house that straddles the two proposed lots would have been demolished.
If approved, up to four units could be built on each lot, although the number would likely be less, city council heard on Monday.
The applicant hadn’t indicated how many units are planned, planners told council.
Eight units would be unlikely due to parking and setback requirements, council was advised. Ten parking stalls would be required for eight units.
Council heard some neighbours had expressed concerns about density and parking.
The application failed in a tie vote.
