Scenes from the 2024 Vernon Winter Carnival

Students from Okanagan Landing Elementary School, coached by members of the Vernon Optimist Club, tried their hand at Jam Can Curling. Each day during Carnival students from Vernon鈥檚 elementary schools were able to try tossing the 鈥渞ocks鈥 on the outdoor rink.
Hundreds of fans filled the parking lot at Kal Tire Place on the first evening of the Vernon Winter Carnival to watch the inflation of six giant hot air balloons. Once the balloons were inflated, the crowds were able to get close and talk to the pilots.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, backed by members of the Kalamalka Highlanders Pipe Band, lead the 64th annual Vernon Winter Carnival parade. The carnival runs daily until Sunday. For a complete list of events and other information visit:
Joy Anne (right) and her partner work on their jive technique at free lessons offered by Cheek to Cheek Dance Studio in Vernon. On other evenings, guests were treated to lessons in Salsa, Bachata and Swing.
The Christel Cam Memorial Award for Parade Entry With the Most Spirit went to St. James Elementary School with their Minecraft theme.
Shamma Sabir of Cod Gone Wild gets the sold out crowd on its feet dancing to the Celtic themed music of the popular Okanagan band. Also on the bill for the SnoGlobe Concert were the Dirt Road Kings and DJ Matchbox.
