A Kelowna fruit packer wants to feed the country.
Sandher Fruit Packers has launched the Sandher Feeds Canada program, which will donate fresh fruit to food banks, schools, shelters and community organizations, and support community events.
The program launched recently in Richmond, where Sandher was the title sponsor of a two-day soccer festival. On Canada Day, Sandher provided free tickets to children and youth to a Vancouver Canadians baseball game.
鈥淔eeding communities means more than just fruit. It鈥檚 about nourishment in every sense,鈥 a news release said. 鈥淥ver the next year, 鈥楽andher Feeds Canada鈥 will support a variety of causes across sports, arts, culture, health care, and poverty relief.鈥
