Aspiring country musicians are invited to apply for mentorship program being offered Sept. 10-13 during Country Music Week.
Kelowna is hosting the Canadian Country Music Association awards. A slate of activities are planned in the days leading up to the event.
鈥淪elected participants will be connected with established industry professionals through tailored mentorship opportunities and will receive personalized guidance (and) access to key events during Country Music Week,鈥 a news release from the CCMA and Creative Okanagan says.
The mentored musicians will attend the opening reception, networking events and songwriting workshops.
A committee of experienced music industry professionals will pick the winning applicants. Musicians 18 and over can apply until July 22 at . Winners will be notified on Aug. 8.
A country music legends concert has also been added to the lineup.
Doc Walker, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Jason McCoy, Madeline Merlo, Jess Moskaluke, Tim and the Glory Boys, and Michelle Wright are among those who will perform Sept. 11 at the Kelowna Community Theatre.
