A hand-carved wooden mountain goat statue was stolen from the Upper Similkameen Indian Band.
The theft happened around 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Chuchuwayha Community Hall on Highway 3 in Hedley, according to a release from the Princeton RCMP.听
Surveillance captured two suspects arrive in an older Ford F-150 which was towing a wooden cargo trailer. The truck is dark blue or black, possibly a 2009-2014 model, with the 鈥淴TR鈥 trim package and chrome wheels.听
鈥淭his carving carries great cultural and sentimental importance for the Upper Similkameen community,鈥 Cpl. Scott McDiarmid said in the release. 鈥淲e're asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in Hedley during the early morning hours of July 8, or, who recognizes the vehicle and/or suspect, to contact us.鈥
